Policy and Legislation
ALOM works with all our member associations each year to proactively develop a platform of legislative priorities that are either needs faced by the member communities, or items currently being addressed by legislative bodies that would have an effect on member communities. Legislative ideas focus on initiatives that would benefit a majority of member communities, or not adversely affect any other member groups. Additionally, ALOM works to develop relationships with legislators at all levels of government to effectively advocate for supported legislation through both individual meetings and larger events like conferences or receptions.
ALOM has a relationship with respective state-level associations that also represent the interests of municipal governments. These include the PA State Association of Boroughs (PSAB), the PA State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) and the PA State Association of Township Commissioners (PSATC).
