Banner Community Program
The Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM), in conjunction with Allegheny County and program sponsor HRG Engineering, is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2027 Banner Community Program. Honored municipalities and authorities distinguish themselves as model communities through their commitment to sustainable practices including professional development, intergovernmental cooperation, sound fiscal management and proactive communications to engage community stakeholders. Banner Community designees will once again be eligible for registration scholarships to the Spring Educational Conference held in April 2027. Last year’s program was a huge success and resulted in 84 communities earning the Banner Community designation.
The application is available to complete online in an easy to read and submit form. It represents efforts from the 2026 calendar year. Please note the deadline for the 2027 program. In an effort to allow designees to better utilize their Banner Community Scholarships at the 2027 Spring Educational Conference, applications may be submitted at any time from now until the deadline of November 25, 2026. We appreciate your support of our association and encourage your community to seek the Banner Community designation this year.
