The Banner Community Program had another record breaking year with a total of 55 communities receiving Banner Community Status in 2018. ALOM recognizes these communities as ones that demonstrate a dedication to professional development, prudent fiscal management, transparency, accountability and proactive communications.

Additionally, at the 2018 Spring Educational Conference, 10 scholarships were awarded to Banner Communities for future professional development opportunities. The scholarship recipients are: Baldwin Borough, Cranberry Township, Millvale Borough, Municipality of Monroeville, Ohio Township, Port Vue Borough, South Fayette Township, Swissvale Borough, West View Borough and Wilkins Township.
